A musical journey celebrating and encapsulating 30 years worth of history while also introducing the plans for the next 30 years: this is what the Danubia Orchestra's birthday concert has to offer. The orchestra's slogan for the anniversary season, "Music is music, classical or not”, is also embodied in this festive concert presented as a journey in time across the thirty years of Danubia's history by host Ádám Bősze and conducted by both founder Domonkos Héja and current artistic director Máté Hámori, who is leading the ensemble down new paths.

With 30 years of history behind it, Danubia is one of Hungary's leading symphonic orchestras and still one of the most youthful professional ensembles in the country. Their special programme compilations and youth and social projects have made them one of the most distinctive art ensembles in recent years. From the very beginning, the orchestra embraced a diversity of genres in its repertoire and are just as comfortable operating behind the scenes of the opera stage and among the hieroglyphics of contemporary works and the offbeats of music hits as they are in the formal tails and bowties of classical music. Key elements of their profile include experimentation with genre, the programming of 20th-century and contemporary works, and a strong online presence. They always try to look at the various forms of classical music with fresh eyes. Their aim is to ensure that this genre with its long history has a future as well, and the key to that future lies with the young people of today. So they see their mission as one of educating the next generation of music-lovers and initiating children into the arts.
